Mike was a surely one of the most positive role models in Pennsylvania gymnastics. His professional accomplishments crossed an amazing spectrum of service and family devotion that was admired by all of us. His accomplishments at every level of sport were an inspiration to the PA gymnastics community who knew him, loved him and respected him.
Mike was a man to be admired by all, as he was always soft spoken, humble and respectful in the arena. May God Bless his family during this time of sadness and may He grant Mike eternal rest.
Our deepest sympathies,
The Jewart Family and Staff, and the Pittsburgh Northstars

Mike my friend!
We had great talks about gymnastics and life. You shared your love of your family, your gymnastics team and life in general with me! We tried to solve the world's problems! But, most of all you were my kind and caring friend. The world will be a lesser place without you! I will miss you! My condolences to your wonderful family,
your gymnastics team and all of your friends. - Jackie Bier

A man's legacy says it all.
Mike's legacy from my perspective is a devoted husband, a Dad who has reared respectful, hard-working kids who are and will make society better, a Coach who impacted his athletes forever and a man that despite all types of challenges faced life positively. He made life better for all around him.
That's a legacy far greater than a name on a building.
Prayers and sincerest condolences from Jackie, myself and Victory Family.

I will miss Michael the rest of my life. I met him as a freshman at Franklin and Marshall College and our first night there we walked for a long time and I realized I had a friend for life. Michael was one of the most amazing people I have ever met, and had a wide range of interests. I was also lucky enough to meet his mom and dad. Michael's mom was a beautiful lady who looked like Audrey Hepburn and his Dad was just as equally wonderful. Michael came from a big happy Italian family and had a great love of the outdoors. I have two most endearing memories of Michael. When I first met him freshman year, he was just moving in and I think he brought up about 21 bags of food. I had never seen so much food. It was amazing. His roommate Bill, when he saw all the food said " Jackpot" and he was right. Bill had to eat every four hours and the more he ate the more weight he lost and they were friends for the rest of their lives. The second memory is that Michael liked to go to church and my friend Michael D and myself did not mind going to church but we needed to be prodded. Michael said if you go to church I will treat you to breakfast at "Bills Diner". Bill's Diner was a legendary place to us, they had won many awards for winner of the golden coffee cup award and had a wooden plaque with a gold coffee pot on the wall. The food was diner food and it came out in platters. I am just heartbroken over Michael and I feel I have lost a family member. Michael was incredibly smart, got a law degree from University of Vermont and started his own business. Michael married the woman of his dreams and really loved his family. My heart goes out to his family in this most difficult of times. I know I think about him every day. God Bless you Michael, your friendship enriched my life.

Jeannette, Miranda, Michael and Marshall-
Where do I start? Four years teammates, three years roommates, friends for forty five years, hunted together for forty two years! More memories that I can count. Even though Mike's health was failing, I never imagined that April 18 and 19 at Warriors Mark would be our last hunt together, or November 2017 would be our last time deer hunting together. I know from our many talks that he loved you all very much. Rest easy Mike-no more pain and Godspeed.
Love,
Bill and Darlene

Love you Mike. Peace+Love.
