Obituary of Martha Elizabeth Kephart

Martha Kephart of State College, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at the age of 95 at AristaCare at Hearthside.

Born January 22, 1923, in Allport, Pa, to John and Isabel Lockey Rasch. She married Richard Kephart, December 26, 1942. He died on August 8, 2009. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard John Kephart on February 24, 1958. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Isabel Sharpless and Patricia Milliron, her brothers, Harold and John Rasch. Martha was the last of her generation.

Martha is survived by her daughters Jean Tressler of Milroy, Sandra (Joe) DeLauter of State College, Carol (Sam) Williams of Port Matilda, Vicki (Greg) Scheirer, Kathy (Rich) Barrickman, and son Jeff (Brenda) Kephart all of State College. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 15 great- great grand children.

Martha graduated from Morris Township High School. She played the bugle in the band and was on the basketball team. Her joy was her family as she committed and dedicated her life to loving them. She was a woman of many talents and skills. Until she became ill she was a member of Pine Hall Lutheran Church.

Funeral service will be Friday, October 19, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Koch Funeral Home with the Rev. Susan Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pine Hall Lutheran Church, 1760 W College Ave, State College, PA 16801 or to a charity of your choice.
