Obituary of Anne Elisabeth Dargitz

Anne Elizabeth Dargitz, 52, of Lucinda passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Anne was born in State College on May 7, 1966. She is survived by her mother, Janet Fowler Dargitz, of State College.

Anne graduated from State College High School in 1984. She continued her education at Clarion University, graduating with a Bachelor's in Secondary Education/Communication and Special Education. Anne worked in the mental health field for over 20 years as a counselor. She always joked that she continued this work as a Scale House Technician at Clarion Industries, where her drivers were her patients. She most recently was a front desk clerk at Motel 6 in Clarion. Anne loved reading, making candles, and most of all her pets.

Anne was met on the other side by her father (Gale) and her brother (Scott). Along with her mother, Anne is survived by two step-sisters, Kathy (Brian) Reed, and Renee (Chip) Pontious. Even though Anne didn't have any biological kids, she loved everyone and was often call "mama", "Aunt", and "sister" by many. She touched the lives of all she met, her smile bringing light to all that were lucky enough to witness it.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Sunday, November 4th at the Motel 6 in Clarion PA from 11 am to 2 pm. This is an informal event per Anne's wishes, and we ask that if you can't make this event due to location, please celebrate her memory around a bon-fire with your loved ones. In lieu of flowers, Anne's asked that you please make a donation to a pet rescue of your choice, or a program that supplies books for kids. Reading and Pets were her joy and continuing the support of these activities were her passion.
