Obituary of Anna Mary Humphreys
Anna Mary Lowder Humphreys, age 96, of Oak Hall, died Friday, October 19, 2018, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born July 1, 1922, in Oak Hall, growing up on the family farmstead, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Stuart and Florence Kline Lowder. On August 6, 1947, she married Richard Ashley Humphreys, who preceded her in death in July of 1971.
She is survived by a daughter, Gail Biddle and her husband, Lewis, of Oak Hall; three grandchildren, Todd Biddle of Lemont, Jennifer Mrozinski and her husband, Don, of Laporte, IN, and Katie Biddle-Newberry and her husband, George, of Boise, ID; four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Ava, Olivia and Emma. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Anna Mary was a graduate of State College High School. She was employed as a secretary at Penn State University in the Ag Administration Building until her retirement.
She was a lifetime member of the Spring Creek Presbyterian Church. She was also a 75 year member of the Victor Grange, she was a past matron and 50 year member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Boalsburg Garden Club.
Anna Mary was very proud of her family and very proud to be called Nana. She loved holidays and spending time with her family was what she valued most as well as tenting at the Grange Fair. She never missed any of her grandchildren's events.
Friends and family are invited at 3 p.m., on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the Spring Creek Presbyterian Church, 144 Mary Street, Lemont, to celebrate the life of Anna Mary. Vicar Kurt Wingert will officiate.
Private burial was in Boalsburg Cemetery.
