Besides my connection to Jim through Lions Paw, I remember one year bumping into to him at a grocery store at the Jersey shore. We had a long conversation sharing stories of mutual friends and of course Penn
State. As we departed, I thought to myself, what a quality guy Jim was. So outgoing and positive in his thoughts and deeds. The Penn State and Lions Paw community will miss him.

Met Jim via LP in 1969. Great man. His kindness extended to all and when my daughter went to Penn State in 2010, Jim extended himself and took her to lunch. Most thoughtful and remembered. Pen State and all of us have lost a great friend

Janet - our condolences. Jim was a great man, and he will be missed by us and I am sure by all who were lucky enough to know him. I always enjoyed our back and forth re: Penn State football and Miichigan football. I have fond memories of my Friday and Saturday with you in November 2015 for the PSU-UM game that weekend....somehow I was able to actually fall asleep in that bedroom in your house that was full of all the Nittany Lion stuff....going to the key donors dinner that Friday night with Jim at the Nittany Lion Inn with all the bowl reps in attendance and listening to the AD talk about her dislike for UM, seeing Jim in all his glory Saturday morning and post-game at his tailgate (made easier for me since UM won that game). I had a great time and am so glad that I took him up that year on his standing offer for me to attend a PSU -UM game in Happy Valley.

Dear Janet and family,
Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers......we will always remember Jim for his generosity of spirit.....he was a mentor to us all and he will be dearly missed. Also, we will never forget the kindness you showed Amy when she was at PSU. Speaking of PSU- Jim was the "Ambassador of Penn State" and no one else will compare.
Love,

Jim was a very nice man and gave me honest feedback as a student while I was at Penn State in the early 2000s. I took that same approach with students I have mentored. Meeting and interacting with Jim was a blessing.

My thoughts are with you Janet and Family. Jim was a faithful patient at Penn State Orthopaedics for several years. I'm glad to be his PT for the past few years and a part of his journey. I thoroughly enjoyed his stories, dedication to PSU football and his obvious love of his family. He was always motivated by the next PSU football game and never gave up! He fought til the end! I hope I helped him even if only temporary relief of his pain. Now he is without any pain and in perfect peace.
Thoughts, love, and prayers and peace Meister family.
Sincerely,
Jen

Very sorry to hear this news. Jim was a great friend & boss. We had a “mini” Alcoa reunion 10 (or so) years ago which was a great time!! I also was able to attend a Michigan-PSU game in State College with Jim & Janet about 10 years ago. It was a wonderful weekend, although PSU kicked our butts. Jim was a great (& gracious) host.
All the best to Janet & Jim’s family.

I worked with Jim during my time in the Alcoa NY sales office between 1963-1965. His smile and affibility remain a fond memory. He was respected by all who knew him. I wish our paths had crossed more often over the intervening years. My condolences to the family.
