Dave.
What a loss Eleanor was a beautiful fun person to be around. I still remember her at the 1995 AAPT meeting in Portland where she nearly bought out the store at Pendleton Mills. She sure like to shop. We will miss seeing her at future meetings.. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Please accept our condolences for Eleanor's passing. She was a wonderful, kind person that had a gift for making people feel comfortable and happy. Dorothy enjoyed talking with Eleanor at the past few AAPT meetings and will greatly miss her company, as will we all.

Dear Dave,
I realize that words, at this time, will never be enough to fill the void and feelings of loss; however, please know that I share in those feelings. Eleanor was a part of my extended family. Our friendship started in the late seventies and continued for over 40 years. Eleanor was so much more than my accountant...she was someone that I was comfortable in confiding in personally, beyond number. We had a very special connection and one that I treasured. Know that my prayers are certainly with you and I know that you will miss her very much. Hang on to the memories, it is why they were made. My condolences to your entire family.

Dave,
May GOD give you strength to bear this immense loss. I saw her last time when you all were in Jaipur and we dined together. She was a very kind and lively person. We all are going to miss her.

This is such a loss. Eleanor was a beautiful, loving and adventurous human being! We'll remember with full hearts all the fun times we had together. And she was rarely, if ever, without her blue eye shadow! Love you, Eleanor!

Our time on earth is not unlimited.
Each of us will leave this world.
Recently I have been given the opportunity to think about that as it applied to my father and as ultimately it will apply to me. Dad died seven weeks ago and I did the eulogy for him. I talked about treasures stored in heaven as being the love we show for others.
How much money we have, how much stuff we own, how well we are known, all these things are of no value in heaven. All these things are taken away from us. What remains is love.
Eleanor displayed many signs of love . I did not know her outside of the asphalt world but at AAPT, TRB, etc. she always had time to talk. She cared for what others felt. She showed love. The 61 years of marriage that she shared with you are a testament of her love for you.
And now she lives in an everlasting world, a world where there is no time, a world where there is no yesterday and no tomorrow. A world where there is no space, no x, y and z. She lives in our real home where she waits for you.
God is love. And God showed his love for mankind by sending his Son to redeem us and open the gates of Heaven. I hope, as you wait in this world bounded by time, that you may open your heart to God's love, that you may accomplish His will as you await being reunited with Eleanor.
I will keep both Eleanor and you in my prayers.
