Obituary of Georgianna Rote

Georgianna "Georgie" Rote, 84, of Boalsburg, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born September 18, 1934, in State College, she was the daughter of the late Donald S. and Blanche Evey Dickson. On February 20, 1955, she married Donald A. Rote, Jr., who survives. Also surviving are three children, Kimberly Orndorf and her husband, Steven, of Allentown, Leslie Dills and her husband, Richard, of Stormstown and Brian Rote of Portage, IN; one sister, Rita Eden and her husband, Al, of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren, Lindsey Mudd and her husband, Tim, Jenna Orndorf, Nathan Dills and Jessica McDermott and her husband, Michael; four great-grandchildren, Michael and Owen Mudd, Noah Washington and Natalie McDermott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Dickson, and a great-grandson, Matthew McDermott. She was a 1952 graduate of Bellefonte High School. Georgie was a sales representative for Avon for over 40 years and also sold and hosted Sarah Coventry jewelry home parties. Her family was of her highest importance and always came first. Gardening was a second passion that she enjoyed. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., on Monday, January 14, 2019, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Pastor Todd Templeton officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
