Obituary of James F. McKivison

James F. "Jim" McKivison, 92, of Martinsburg, formerly of State College, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at the Village at Morrison's Cove, Martinsburg. Born July 12, 1926, in Glenn Richey, he was the son of the late John T. and Lyda M. Harshberger McKivison. On December 28, 1950 he married Mary Jane Gilliland, who preceded him in death on May 7, 2012. He is survived by a sister, Janet Kelley of Tyrone, a brother, Thomas McKivison of State College; niece's Lisa Kelley of Tyrone and Christine Coe of Hublersburg. James served as a Private First Class in the 25th Infantry during World War II. He retired as the Manager of Mailing Services in 1983 from Penn State University, after 32 years of service. James was a member of the Mount Nittany United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the State College Elks, the American Legion Post 245, State College, the National Rifle Association, the Harris Township Fish and Game Association and the Seven Mountains Bowling Association. James was a volunteer at Centre Community Hospital. Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m., on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with the Reverend Edward Preston officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
