Aunt Marie was and is special in my memory. I remember how excited we Racettes were when we knew that it was arrival day for the Laplantes at their cabin in the Adirondacks. In spite of the fact that Marie was busy shepherding her clan after their hours long drive she always had a smile on her face for the arrival of her flock of nieces and nephews at the cabin. In spite of the doubling of her flock in a matter of moments ( I believe your clan added to our clan represents the true definition of a flock) we were greeted with hugs, smiles and a beautiful warmth. Later in life, when I was taking my first steps into a new career with the airlines, your mother and father were incredibly gracious in offering me a place to stay while undergoing training at LGA. That was wonderful, but as an added bonus, while staying with Jerry and Marie for a month, and while going to the training center at odd hours, there was always a warm homecooked meal waiting for me when I got back to the apartment. Aunt Marie made sure I was fed, even if I showed up at 1am!
She was a beautiful woman, and you are a beautiful family. Please, if there is anything I can do to ease your loss let me know. I love you all, and miss your mother's presence in this world!
