We are heartbroken that we just learned about this today. Mrs. Thompson was one of our all-time favorite people and we loved her very much. She was a great friend to my mother and was also so kind to our entire family. We always looked forward to our visits with her when we were in town and wished it could have been more often. She was a strong Christian, a knowledgeable football fan, a great conversationalist (always funny and sharp even as she got older), and a great friend. We will miss her so much, but it also brings a smile knowing that she will be reunited with her husband, young Jim, my Mom, and so many others.

May you find comfort in knowing that your dear one is safe in the memory of God, who will remember every detail about them and bring them back again. (John 5:28,29) My sincere condolences to your family.

From the Family of Cromer A. (Buck) Shumaker.
While we are saddened by the loss of Aunt Jane, we also feel fortunate to have had her as part of our lives. When I was young it was always a treat when Aunt Jane would come to visit her brother Cromer H Shumaker at his home in Distant, PA. To us as kids, she was seen as a refined lady and was always very interested in what each of us had to tell her. As we got older, we learned of her passion for Penn State football. I'm told she never missed home game for most of her time in State College and very much enjoyed having my father “Buck” come to State College for games. I personally got to reconnect with Aunt Jane when my son attended Penn State. I'm happy that my son, daughter, and wife were able to meet and spend time getting to know her. While her physical health was fading, her mind remained very sharp. She could talk about most any subject and was very proud of her "Shumaker" heritage.
Well Aunt Jane, we are also very proud to have had you as part of the Shumaker heritage. We will all cherish the fond memories of the times that we did spend together. You may be gone, but those memories will last through our life times.
Farewell, dear Aunt Jane.
