Dear Mrs Hagenberger, I heard the news yesterday of the loss of Gene. I am saddened very much as I'm sure many are. He was a brillant man who I admired and respected very much. I worked for Gene in the melt shop for 21 years and he was always fair with me and kind and taught me well. He always had a gift in answering any question one might ask. I remember one week when we were making special steel for Allegeny Ludlim. Gene and I teemed up as partners the whole week working 12 hours a day the whole week. we worked hard, had a fine time and made good steel. That's a memory that is special to me because my Boss Gene wasn't afraid to work right with the men when needed. I personally value and appreciate that kind of man which indeed your husband was. I have, and will always miss and remember him. Please accept my warm sincere condolences, Bill Winn
