Mildred is a special special lady. She was always so kind and down to earth. She always tells it like it is. During our many Altrusa meetings and activities together, she always made a point of greeting us all so we would know we were included and loved. She was always so well put together and I am continually inspired by her wisdom and her classy sense of style. When I became president of our club, she made a point of reaching out to me and encouraging me and making sure I knew she was there and supporting me. We learn and grow together and you are doing a great job. She always said that to me. She was also a great on for keeping us on task and making sure we did not over discuss a topic. I will always remember her for sharing her love of all things Altrusa and helping in our community and for "calling the question" so that we could keep our meetings moving. Thank you Mildred for helping me to become the leader I am today. Love you lady

Mildred was one of those people in your life who help you, with both common sense and empathy, discover your inner strength. Sometimes she was your friend, sometimes a mother figure, and some times the toughest teacher you ever had. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Mildred wore so many hats, but we most remember her for leading exercise classes at the Centre Region Active Adult Center (senior center) in the Nittany Mall for the past few years. She will be missed. Sorry for your loss.

What a wonderful sister-in-law I have had in Mildred during my 57 years in the family!
Mildred was the first born of the Lowrie children and a natural leader. She was always willing to do more than her share with family, the community, her career, and the church.
She started serving as a young girl in church activities and as Worthy Advisor for the Rainbow Girl's Chapter in El Paso, Texas. Throughout her life she served as head of various organizations wherever she lived. She was always a strong, successful leader and took pride in her accomplishments.
She felt great joy in the friendships she cultivated along her life's path and continued doing good deeds, even in the last hours of her life.
Mildred often referred to my husband as "Brother, dear". So, "Sister-in-law, dear" please know that you are loved. Rest in Peace!.
