I met Beckie when I volunteered for Out of the Cold this year. I sat next to her while she conducted her business- making calls, welcoming guests, making sure everybody was taken care of, etc. I was immediately struck by Beckie's selflessness and her commitment to helping others. I was around her for only a total of, maybe, 20 minutes over the course of two days. But that was ample time to learn that this person, Beckie, was a magnificent and compassionate soul who was constantly concerned about the well-being of others. She is the embodiment of Christ's message to love others unconditionally, especially those that are less fortunate. Beckie's selfless service to others is a powerful message to the rest of us. May we all cherish her life and honor her by picking up her torch and continue on with her work of caring for one another. May God bless you and keep you, Beckie.
