Just learning of Susan's passing. I attended High School with her in Upper Arlington, OH. I knew little of her and she probably less of me. Certainly would have enjoyed the scavenger hunts. Some of my buddies on college summer nights tried to meet girls by pretending to be a on scavenger hunt knocking on doors in a different suburb in Columbus. One of the items on our list was a chocolate Sword of Excalibur, just whimsical enough to endear ourselves to those we met. Having read Susan's obituary, what a wonderful and meaningful life she lived. I have no doubt of the profound effect she had on family and friends. Sure wish I had known her. Fred Gatzke

Our memories of Susan are tied to our children & the joys we all experienced during the times our families gathered together in Atlanta. Susan was the spark that made those visits so memorable & she enhanced the bonds that Kathleen, Charles & Brandon shared during their young childhood. We will fondly remember our initial guest bathroom experience... "upon seating"... & meeting her pet snake a foot away. Then, the rats in the freezer to feed him. Susan was her own person, no falsities, no pretenses. She was unique in her interests and steadfast in her ambitions. And although we couldn't share the later years with Susan she was always a presence in our lives for which we will be forever grateful.

I’m saddened to hear of your passing. We enjoyed many great visits together talking about everything and anything. You always had a way of making me feel better about things after our visits. I enjoyed decorating your house for Christmas because you got so much joy out of it. Thank you for coming into my life Susan, I’ll miss you greatly.

“Our life in the universe is like the beautiful chime of a bell: there is nothing, and then there is a momentary, but glorious vibration, and then again—nothing” --- Harry Harner
Katrina and family, my deepest condolences to you. May you find consolation and strength in your memories and in the true assurance that she continues to live through you and that YOU are the validation that her's was a life well lived.
Even your pain is a witness to the tight bonds which you collectively shared with her.
May the memories, which are so painful now, soon be a source of consolation for you and may her glorious vibration be heard for a long time to come
