Dear Hill Family,
I remember so fondly Bob and his little stogie hanging out of his mouth! My first ever experience as a home owner at Spruce Creek, Bob was fishing, and I came walking down the stream with a pile of kids and a friend all in our waders and bathing suits. Bob said “Now that’s the kind of stream improvement I’m talking about!” We rolled with laughter! What a fun guy. Will be deeply missed. Sending love and prayers your way!

From one of Robert's many cousins:
I am sitting in the darkness of my room at Atria, the Assisted Living facility, where it is my home. A small light lets me write this note about Wee Rob as he will always be in my mind. He was the youngest of the male cousins, prior to Gordon. Both Rob and I were named for our grandpa where we spent Sunday's with family, always family. We listened as the "old folk" talked about who had won the week's bets on soccer played in Scotland and not on Penn State over Ohio State. It was always the "old country" that Janie, Gordon, Sandy, Big Jack, Wee Pack, Annabelle, Jeanie, Reba,Carol, Dougie, Roger and I heard growing up in a different time.....
We played baseball all summer with the gang on Oak St and Dartmouth Ave. Wee Rob could hardly lift the bat, but there was no stopping his spirit. He was never left out. He eventually became larger than all of us. I remember his comment about working at a seafood canning factory in California. He said his job was to close the eyes of the fish before the lid was put on. He had a joy of life. His devotion to Gordon was exemplary. How many of us could perform such a Christian act?
His suffering is at last over, but his memory will last, forever. We remember him and also Sandra who was at his side, always giving him the support that he required. Cousins may be at a distance today, but we all think of him and smile.
