I was honored to have worked with Roger on some personal matters over the years and enjoyed hearing all of his interesting stories of his life. I will miss talking with him even though the last few years it was over the phone. My sympathies and prayers go to the family!

Dear Dan, Peter, and Jill,
I hope you receive the personal note Lucia and I just sent you. This is something I should have said, as well. It is a PS.
I know, from Roger's comments over the years, that, as a father, he was very proud of you, each in your own way, for your individual accomplishments, and loved you all, dearly. I'm sure many others can testify to that.
Also, FYI his old law partner, George Pfann,Jr is not well, mentally, and his wife, Lana, has her hands very full, presently, where they are, at Kendal of Ithaca.

My sympathy to the family of Roger Sovocool
We were friends at The Village at Penn State. He presided me as Chairman of our Residents Council. We often had informative and enjoyable conversations. He gave his Chairman’s gavel, which I recently returned. He hoped might go to a family member.
My wife, Nancy SPENCER King, deceased, grew up in the same part of Ithaca as Roger.
They would talk of mutual friends.
Again, my sympathy.

I am so sorry to hear the news of Mr. Sovocool's passing. I knew him through my employment at Swarthout Coaches in Ithaca. He had a friendship with Bob Swarthout and his wife.
He helped me file paperwork when there was a Corporation name change. He was a person who did not look down on people, I new nothing of legal matters, he walked me through it.
May the peace of your Lord be with you at this most difficult time.

My memories of Uncle Roger are from my adult years. He gave me the best legal counsel ever; after I had asked multiple other lawyers the same question and gotten nothing from them. He encouraged me to "wait and see"; perhaps what I assumed was a deficit would instead turn out to be an asset. In his elder years, he worked hard physically to make it possible for my mom to visit Lake Ridge, which they both loved since childhood.
