Memory of Mead McCoy
I knew Mead as a coworker for many years at HRB. I learned from him by observation. Such as where was a good place to stop to eat on the “back way” to Washington DC when work called us there.
He was an avid hunter (not me) but I read some of his stories about those annual hunting trips to Michigan. He wrote detailed and amusing accounts of those adventures which made for interesting reading. He also wrote two books (titled Man Food and More Man Food and authored by Charles Banks) that included many recipes devoted to cooking outdoors with various natural ingredients. But, to me, the more interesting information was contained in the text between the recipes that provided insight into his life experiences while growing up. Fortunately, a few years ago after we both were retired, a chance meeting occurred at the Home Delivery Pizza restaurant that gave me the opportunity to express my pleasure in reading his writings directly to him.
Mead was a unique and interesting down-to-earth man who is missed.

Thank you Elaine, your kind words are a comfort to me. I'm so happy that you had so many fond memories of my mother and father. They loved you and Ron. Thank you for sharing your life with them. As you said, they will both live on in our hearts and our memories. Love to you and your family.

To the McCoy family,
Our deepest sympathy to all of you. I met your Mother when I joined Beta Sigma Phi and then met your Dad who worked at HRB with my husband. Have watched you kids grow up, Both parents were wonderful people and your Mom with her incredible sense of humor and great laugh, and your Dad just agreed with her. They were a great team, I'm sure that he will be sorely missed but glad I had the opportunity to reconnect with Amy at the Grange Fair. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers and ask God to help you get through this loss. Patti and Adrian Mauk
