Anna was my neighbor here at The Village at Penn State when she first moved in in 2007. After her stroke and her move to The Atrium, I saw Anna when I visited over there. Following knee surgery I spent 3 weeks recovering there and frequently ate with Anna. After another surgery, I spent 13 weeks at The Atrium and always had breakfast with Anna. We had some great conversations. She was a feisty lady, but also worked so very hard in trying to overcome the effects of the stroke. I will miss Anna and her stories of her past.

I am a volunteer long term care ombudsmen for the County Office of Aging. Over the last five years, I've had the privilege of visiting with and getting to know Anna. She was a gem. She always told me how feisty she was, which was obvious to anyone who knew her. I loved her spirit. Unfortunately, the pandemic has kept me from visiting the facility, so I hadn't seen her in several months. I will miss her.

Dear Family and Friends - My mom is a patient in the memory care unit at the Atrium at the Village at Penn State. We have had the pleasure of dining with Anna and chatting with her so many times. She was always so interested in our family, and she always remembered our names. I will miss seeing her and listening for her distinctive, warm voice. It is always hard to say goodbye, and especially so for people who have touched our lives through their smiles and their words. Anna was one of those people. God bless your soul Anna: you will surely be missed by so many who adored you, our family included.
Sincerely, Cindy and Ken Miceli (Cindy's mom is Emily McCormick, room 212 at the Atrium)
