Our Dearest Don,
You were one of the most dedicated, determined, hard-working, committed, and courageous bosses my husband and I have ever had the pleasure of working for. Your personal and professional pursuit of perfection prompted your employees to pattern themselves after you. You prepared those of us who tuned into your tenacity, took your advice, and used you as a template for our own success, to present ourselves to the world in the most positive light imaginable.
You were a no-nonsense man, Don, whose motto "The Customer is King," helped propel you and your beloved Autoport to a preeminent position. You were the "Real Deal" who "Walked the Walk," and those of us who willingly walked beside you have shared a sensational slice of "Your Journey of a Lifetime!"
Thank you, Don, for sharing your time, talents, finesse, fearlessness, and genuineness with so many of us. We are better because of you.
With Much Much Love and Many Many Thanks,
Barbara Eck Tosi and David E. Tosi

I am sorry to hear of Don's passing, He and my dad grew up together on west college ave and stayed friends over the years. I remember one story my dad told of the 2 of them making mud pies with Don's mothers eggs. Both mothers were mad at them. Dad loved to tell about going to the Autoport for dances in high school. I/we ate many meals there thru the years and having drinks at the bar was a favorite place for my folks. My grandmother would decorate for parties and weddings there.
He made the Autoport a first class place where a lot of memories were made including the ones i have. The pride he took in making the Autoport always looking picture perfect was easy to see
Deepest sympathy to the family

I will always remember growing up and working for Don Meyer as a young kid, he taught me a lot and we have stayed in touch over the past 45 years. He ran a tight ship, the Autoport was one of the best operated restaurant & Motels under his ownership.
Thanks Don for everything, may you Rest In Peace. Condolences to the family at this difficult time.
