To the Rigby Family,
'Scintillating' comes to mind as my best description of Dorothy Rigby, best known to me as my high school history teacher offering pearls of wisdom and challenging discussions somehow invoking a need to take civic responsibility seriously. I have only learned now of the great extent to which she took her own lessons to heart in her generosity to her community, family, and the arts and of her foresight and forward thinking which has certainly touched and benefitted the lives of many. A very large and appreciative community is saying good bye to an incredible force of nature, but those of us who know her children can be assured her legacy and mission will carry on, in line with the plans of all great visionaries.
I am sure she will be sadly missed and my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Best,
Charmaine

My heart goes out to Peter Mark and Paul. I did not know Dotty personally but from her wonderful obituary I see that she was a great lady and left a lasting legacy
May you all be comforted in your grief.
Love Nancy Hostetler (Peter’s high school friend)

Such an accomplished lady in education, social service, community activism, and the arts. I've learned much in my recent seven year association with Dotty through the Nittany Valley Symphony Guild...a wonderful mentor, generous donor, and supporter. May eternal light shine upon you and may you rest in peace.

What a wonderful obituary for a gracious lady. Dotty was so generous in spirit. She has contributed greatly to the success of the Nittany Valley Symphony with her leadership and high standards. I will miss this diminutive giant!
