Aunt Ed, Beryl, Deb & Stacey, no words can express how sorry I am for your loss. Arlene was a wonderful person, when describing her to someone the words kind, happy, cheerful, and always smiling were just a few of the words that always came out of my mouth. I am so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful woman. I remember seeing Arlene when I would visit my Mom Mitzi at Penn State. She had such a great laugh. I still have my cheerleader figurine she gave me when I made the squad, it is very special. She will be missed

I was shocked and saddened to read about Arlene's passing. I graduated from PSU LSER department in 1989 and Arlene was a huge part of my positive experience at school. Whenever I walked in, I would get a hearty "Hi Beth the diver!" Even after I graduated, whenever I came back, I would stop in to see Arlene and still recieve the same friendly & enthusiastic greeting. She made a difference in many people's lives!! I hope your fond memories bring you a measure of comfort during this difficult time. My thoughts & prayers are with you and the family. ~Beth

I am so sorry for your loss. Arlene was my advisor when I was a Labor Studies student at Penn State from 1998-2002. Arlene was the kindest lady, someone who was always willing to lend some time out of her busy day to talk with and guide her students. She went well beyond what an advisor had to do. I'll always remember how proudly she displayed a sticker that said "America Works Best when the Union vote is Yes!" I'm now a union-side labor lawyer, and I couldn't agree more. Please know how much Arlene touched the lives of young people away from home for the first time. May God Bless Arlene, her family, and the Labor Studies Dept. at this time difficult time.
