Dear Savi and Billy, I am so very sorry to hear of your Mom,s passing. She and I tried to connect in the last year, but we had a difficult time. Through these many years, I have thought of you all often. The one thing I know for sure is, this is a lady who raised two wonderful kids, she was also an influence in my life in dealing with challenging situations. I am blessed that she was a part of my life . You are in my thoughts, prayers and heart. With many wonderful memories, Macrina (Mac) Drylak-Bordier

Bonnie Ishler Willey Memorial
Our paths crossed many years ago when our daughter attended Ms Ishler’s second-grade class in 1987 in Boalsburg, PA. It was such a pleasure for us to see how very personally invested she was in making learning at such a young age so very vibrant for our daughter. There are so many memories from which to choose.
One standout was a class project designed to demonstrate bird hatching, growth and development. Ms Ishler arranged a brooding incubator in which the children observed fertile chicken eggs hatch, the chicks develop feathers and feed until they were several weeks old. She then offered any child the opportunity to ‘adopt a chick’ taking it home with instructions about its care and feeding and a suitable farm family to which the chick could eventually be given. Such was Ms. Ishler’s thorough dedication to the project from beginning to end. Our daughter learned so very much about bird development including bonding and behavior as we literally welcomed Chick-Chick into our living room.
I know we will always remember what a wonderful person, teacher and friend Bonnie was. We would like all your family to know how very much she meant to our family in our formative years.
We will be very pleased to contribute to the LLS in her memory.
Sincerely, Mary & John Nousek

It’s been a privilege to see Bonnie and get to know her over many Portland stays. Her light always shined here and it shines on in you both, Savonn and Bill. I know her spirit and memory will also live on in you and in the families you have in turn nurtured and whom she loved so deeply.
