Bill was a great mentor for young engineers. He was a great innovator of novel test equipment and sensors. He taught us accuracy, perseverance, and doing things right. But, his greatest legacy will be his huge heart and willingness to help others.

I first met Wilden as an engineering student in 1980. I needed a special piece of test equipment for my senior project which I promptly broke. Even as he cursed me for breaking the equipment, he was laughing at me.
From that day, Wilden has been one of my favorite people. I doubt I will ever meet a kinder or more caring person.

Pop Pop, Thank You for being an amazing grandfather. Thanks for cheering for me at my football games. I am going to miss watching The History Channel with you and talking about the shows' that we would watch together. Thanks! for drinking the terrible coffee that I made for you and not saying anything. Love Zach

Bill would often stop by the office just to hassle me, and spend some time talking about his latest adventure. I sure am gonna miss him and his stories. Every now and then I'd ask his permission to give him a hug, and he'd always say Sure! Rest in peace my friend, I will miss you :( My sincere sympathies to Bill's family. May many fond memories bring comfort and precious memories during these difficult days.

Bill had a big heart and would not hesitate to help others and did so often. I will miss this old salt and his USNavy days stories who appreciated a good cup of coffee. From one Navy vet to another, "Fair WInds and Following Seas" my friend.
Prayers, healing, and peace to the family.

My grandfather was a great man, he taught me many things about helping others and never giving up, no matter what life throws at you. From one sailor to another, fair winds and following seas pop pop.
