When I read Carolyn's obituary yesterday, so many incredible memories followed of
being Mountain Road neighbors to the Kresen family from 1972 to 1979. Carolyn drove my daughter and me to the Emergency Room after Jean fell down the stairs. Do you remember when the septic company sprinkled lime everywhere after their truck got stuck in our yard and they released a tidal wave down the mountain? Carolyn again came to my rescue when the kids were small and I needed a ride to work on campus. We shared black snakes, rattlesnakes too, raccoons "drunk" on fall berries, deer, hunters after the deer, and a bear who loved Ellen's quiche-baking skills. For me, Carolyn will always be an incredible woman, neighbor and friend! May these and other Carolyn and Carolyn and Don stories provoke smiles during this time of sadness.

I’m so sorry to hear of Carolyn’s passing. She was so special to me. I got to know her years ago through Critical Care Systems and was so blessed by our friendship. I loved her stories and her peanut brittle. She always offered me a snack when we would visit. I cherish the items she crocheted for my youngest daughter when she was born, especially the little apple hat. Like Gabrielle, Calleigh was a NICU baby in Danville, though for a much shorter time. Carolyn even called her friend and nurse to look out for her and that lovely woman was Calleigh’s nurse one night. It was a great surprise I will never forget. Like all, I am so glad that I had the pleasure of knowing Carolyn. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that your many wonderful memories comfort you.

Carolyn was my favorite Juniper resident and I learned so much from her, both medically and about the world itself. She adored my dog, Rocco, who I brought to visit regularly, and cherished our long talks. Carolyn was very much like a grandmother to me, and I was honored to be one of her nurses. I was so thrilled to be able to take her outside a few weeks ago so she could see the beautiful fall colors. No more hamburgers and mashed potatoes, Carolyn. What an amazing reunion she must be having in heaven with her husband, sister, parents, and her dear aunt. Rocco and I miss you already. Love, Erin.

Our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family of Mrs. Kresen. We never had the blessing of knowing her personally, but we are friends of Cheryl. Cheryl always talked so warmly about her mother and it is obvious the closeness that they shared. We can see now who Cheryl got her determination and strong heart from. May Mrs. Kresen rest easy and may her children and grandchildren continue to keep her memory alive. With Love and Sympathy, Melissa, Tim, Jude and Michael

She was a great Mom. Early on, she did more with less than you could imagine today. She always made us feel safe and encouraged us to get as much education as we could. I was blessed to be able to be with her and my wonderful sisters right to the end.
