Obituary of Jane Louise Stevens

Jane Louise Stevens, 91, of Murrysville, formerly of Butler and Kittanning, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Murrysville Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.

Born May 29, 1929, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Henry and Twila Hoy Stevens of State College.

She is survived by a brother, Robert L. Stevens and his wife, Cathy, of Green Valley, AZ; a nephew, Scott A. Hutchens of Bethlehem, PA, and a niece, Joy Hutchens Schreffler of Dillsburg, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Stevens Hutchens of Easton, PA.

Jane was a 1949 graduate of the Allegheny General Hospital Nursing School. She received a bachelor's degree in 1957 from the University of Pittsburgh in nursing and a master's degree in public health in 1968, also from the University of Pittsburgh.

She retired in 1990 after 40 years as a Registered Nurse from the Visiting Nurses Association of Allegheny County.

Jane was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Monroeville. She was also a member of various cultural and civic organizations, the American Nursing Association and the Pennsylvania Nursing Association.

There will be a private graveside service at Centre County Memorial Park.
