Oh that smile! Matt you will be greatly missed. I hope someone in heaven is preparing your bacon just how you like, filling your butter cup with just enough but not too much and is warming your syrup so you don’t have to touch the sticky cups! Providing you with lots of your fav hot sauce!!
You were a man who always sat with your paperwork, proudly shared pictures or stories of your beautiful wife and children and glowed with a confidence I admired. Your kind heart will be missed. Your breakfast routine and company will be greatly missed and most importantly, your friendship will be missed.
Prayers to Emily, your beautiful kiddos abs your whole family for I know your loss is devastating. Watch over them Matt! ❤️

Dear Emily,
Our hearts go out to you. Matt has touched more lives in the short time he was here than many of us will touch in a lifetime. Know that our prayers are with you and may God’s grace just rain down upon you and yours. With deepest sympathy,

To the Burns Family,
Our prayers go out to you.
Anyone who met Matt became an instant friend. His faith in and love for JESUS CHRIST beamed from his every word and action.
Matt worked on our renovation for many months. His work ethic was incredible. His love for his wife and family was immeasurable!
He’d pull in our driveway and pray for 15 minutes or so, before beginning his day.
It was a joy having that time with Matthew!
Now, with every door we open, every window we peer out, every light fixture we turn on, we will think of Matt Burns and his wife kids and family!
We know, in our home, Matt Burns will always have a presence!
Love and prayers,
Brian and Vicky Baney

Emily, Patti and Marlin,
Our deepest sympathy to you and the children on hearing that Matt passed away. It was always a pleasure to talk to Matt or see him when he came to mow lawn at Beverly’s place. Matt cared a great deal about everything he did for his family and friends. He shared his love of God openly and with joy. It is so hard to try and understand why God has called Matt home to be with him. May your family find strength in the Lord to help you through this difficult time.

Marlin and Burns family,
I am SO sorry for the tragic loss of such a fine son. His life as a tradesman, father, spouse, son , citizen and friend spoke volumes to all here in Spruce Creek. My prayer is that you rest secure in the knowledge that he touched many lives with the Burns legacy and that legacy surely lives on in his spirit. At this difficult time when we make no sense of such a terrible loss be assured that though our prayers don’t ease your pain I feel sure Matt is securely in the arms of Jesus for a life far too short but a life very well lived.
With sincere condolences,
Your old classmate

Matthew T. Burns
Marlin, Patti, Emily, Jenna & Michael:
My Heart is saddened with the loss of your amazing Son, Husband & Brother... Matt was bigger than life, and God used him to touch so many people and souls in this world...
If you were around Matt more than 3 minutes you were smiling. His boyish charm captured the Hearts of all those he encountered. His energy and creativity had no bounds, and his Love of Christ and the Life HE gave him was evident with his every breath... Matt only knew “March forward”, in all the time I’ve known him, I never knew him to retreat... A good and faithful servant and soldier of The King...
I Love Matt as though he were a part of our family, he and John had a great relationship... In my memory; I will always hear that, “hey Mr Hall, how yah doin’ “ each time he would see me.
My prayer for you, is that, God may provide the Joy of His Spirit thru the coming days and weeks as you work thru his going Home. Jesus, Dale, Ruth, Tom & Elenor will surely enjoy the reunion. His absence will always be noticed, but the Joy of his reward will soften the loss.
God Bless you all thru this time, may Christ place a hedge of comfort around your family, and God Speed Matt to the arms of Jesus, we will always Love You...

From my human perspective, my friend, Matt left us way too early and at the wrong time. I can't really begin to understand the "Why" of it all. I am very confident of this one thing however...Matt is in the very presence of his Savior, Jesus and many others who went before him who knew Christ as their Savior that he will know. He is doing very well where he is! Still, my heart aches personally for this loss as Matt was a man I knew from when he attended the Christian Academy to when he worked his own construction business; and we were beginning to forge a business to business relationship. I will miss him as a friend and brother in Christ. My thoughts, love and prayer go out fervently for all his family and friends in this difficult time. We can look forward to a wonderful reunion day with him if we will do as he did and trust in Christ alone for our salvation. See you later, my friend!
