Mrs.Sneff always greeted me warmly when I came to her family's home in my childhood years to visit my friend, Heather (then known as Candy). Years later, when I was a part time work-study college student, I enjoyed working with her in the office of the Penn State Executive Programs. I so appreciated her engaging and upbeat nature. Every problem could be solved. A twinkle in her eye and a joy to be around!! My deepest sympathies to Heather and the entire Sneff family as you grieve this difficult loss. I used to babysit for the Sneff girls when they lived in Sayville. How I loved visiting that sparkling household and I know my sister Meredith felt the same! We both admired Mrs. Sneff. She was chic, kind, energetic and supportive of all the young people who flocked to her home. I have many fond memories of her daughters. My heart goes out to you all.

Mrs. Sneff was a remarkable woman. She was striking in appearance, striking in intelligence, striking in her joy, and a striking presence for young girls struggling to find a place in a world that believed women’s roles were limited. She had a true partnership with her husband, and flourished in a diverse household teeming with talent, fostering curiosity in each of her children, no matter where it would lead. She was welcoming and warm, with boundless energy that kept her abreast of the varied activities of six children. As Wendy’s friend I was always welcomed, and developed a bit of hero worship for this vibrant woman who met life with an enthusiastic thirst for what comes next. I am so sorry that such a presence is now gone from the midst of this family, but am confident she has left a good part of herself behind as her kids and their kids live life on their terms.
Peaceful slumber, Mrs. Sneff. May choirs of angels sing thee to thy rest.

Mrs Sneff was always so welcoming and made others feel loved. She was an advocate for her six daughters whether the activity was playing tennis or venturing to Europe with a girlfriend after college for two months (before cell phones!) In a family, to have the middle child feel loved and supported is a goal that many parents desire, but Mrs. Sneff actually accomplished. It is an honor to have known a woman who demonstrated to the world how to love others. Thank you Mrs. Sneff. Prayers for all her daughters and families for comfort and healing as you grieve her loss. I knew Mrs. Sneff back when their family lived in Sayville New York. Tory and I were best friends! So many wonderful memories of their house. I remember learning French in their backyard gazebo because Mrs. Sneff had hired a French tutor for all of us. She’s also the one that introduced me to Wishbone salad dressing!! I had never had it and thought it was wonderful!!! When their family moved to Vermont I was heartbroken. Tory and I did manage to spend a summer together at sleep away camp! I also spent time at their Lakehouse and wonderful memories of skiing together. I was very accident prone back then but luckily that didn’t continue. There was a very funny story about me falling off the back deck at the lake house after their dog was sprayed by a skunk. I know how much her family loved her. Mrs. Sneff will always hold a very special spot in my heart as well as the entire family. God speed Vera.

Dr. and Mrs. Sneff always had such a welcoming home. We had so many fun times with Tory, and her mom did not complain when we monopolized the kitchen while making cookies. I enjoyed having interesting conversations with both her mom and dad, knitting hats and Icelandic sweaters and learning about their latest hobbies. I couldn't believe that Mrs. Sneff allowed a group of us to drive her car to Cape Cod after we graduated from high school, and Tory didn't even have a driver's license. I know that your mom loved hearing all of her girls sing to her!!
My family sends their condolences at this difficult time,
Love,
Theresa

I still remember all the different cookies she made for Christmas (especially the "stained glass ones") and your tradition of putting all of the stockings on one long line across the fireplace, turning out the lights and running to stuff them with gifts for each other in the dark. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. She will be sorely missed by many.
My condolences to you and your family and all of your sisters and their families. She was a treasure.
Love to all,
Cindy Adams
