Obituary of Jacqueline Ann Pantano

Jacqueline Ann Pantano, 67, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Thursday December 31, 2020.

Jackie was a lovely lady with an infectious laugh and dry sarcastic wit, always quick with a pun or a dose of her unashamed optimism. Even in the darkest times, Jackie helped us to see the brighter side. She would remind us of the good times past and those still to come. She had a way with people, always making sure to connect on a personal level, and was never too busy to stop and talk. She left an impression on everyone she met.

She was born August 14, 1953 in Hawthorne, NJ to Jacqueline and James Nugent, who preceded her in death along with her brothers Gerry and Jimmy, sister-in-law Maggie, and fiercely loved sister Cathy. She grew up in Hawthorne, working in factories and offices, and it was there that she met Carlo, the love of her life and husband of 48 years. They lived in Florida, where she developed her love of a good conversation working in a hair shop; in Ohio, where they started a family; and then settled near State College, PA in 1980. Their home was a place friends and family, from near and far, loved to gather for laughs- and everyone knew there would be a great meal.

Along with Carlo, she is survived by her children Matt (and Emma) Pantano of Pine Grove Mills, PA and Lindsay (and Brian) Knapp of Portland, OR; brother John (and Mary) Nugent of McKinney, TX; and brother-in-law Tom Baldwin of Pinehurst, NC.

Jackie led her life with passion throughout. She had strong opinions on matters large and small, many of them related to food and cooking. She cared for those in her circle, in times of illness or any kind of need, with a devotion that a great many people will never forget. She chose to spend every minute possible with her grandchildren Koan, Lana, Vinny, Tessa, Camilla, and Margaret, and never lost sight of what she held most dear: her family.

Due to covid-19 the family will remember her with a private gathering at a later date.
