Meriam Rhoda Dreibelbis, 88, of Port Matilda, died peacefully Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at home surrounded by her children.

Born May 8, 1932, in Millheim, she was the daughter of the late Orvis and Mabel Stover Corman. On December 26, 1953, she married Robert E. Dreibelbis, who preceded her in death on March 7, 1990.

She is survived by five children: Robert E. Dreibelbis, Jr. of Port Matilda; Daniel E. Dreibelbis and his wife Barbara Spencer of Port Matilda; Catherine Elizabeth Philips and her husband Don of St. Petersburg, FL; Jacqueline Olsavsky and her husband Joseph of Waterville, OH; and Randall L. Dreibelbis and his wife Elise of Port Matilda. In addition, she is survived by three siblings, sister Ruth Rudy and her husband C. Guy of Centre Hall, brother Louis Corman and his wife Shirley of Millheim, and brother Ray Corman and his wife Virginia of Kempton; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Meriam was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Meriam graduated from East Penns Valley High School in 1950.

She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Pine Hall, PA. Meriam enjoyed cooking for her family and being outside and camping and fishing and walking through the fields near her home. She enjoyed attending the Centre County Grange Fair and trailer camped at the Grange Fair for 60 years. Meriam loved traveling throughout the United States and particularly liked the western part of this country. Though she loved Pennsylvania, she did retreat to Florida for the winter months later in life. She also traveled through Canada several times and visited Alaska. Meriam hosted all holiday meals for her family and was most happy when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Meriam was the cornerstone for her large family, and her spirit and strength will be missed.
