Dear Ari,
I am heartbroken to hear of the death of your beloved father. You and your mother are in my thoughts every day. Cherish the beautiful memories and special things you and your father enjoyed together. His memory will live in your hearts forever.
Warmest regards,
Laura Contino

Norrie hated gardening? Really? I recall an afternoon spent at my house digging perennials for his garden.
Clearly, the three of you had quite the love story. I am sending hugs to those Norrie loved best — Rose and Ari. You are in my thoughts and in my heart as you begin to walk this new path.

Gieros Family, may you find comfort in God’s promise at Revelation 21:3,4.
“God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes
and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.
The former things has passed away.”

The first time I met Norrie, it was clear how dedicated he was to his daughter, Ari; spending his time engaging in the games she loved to play with him, taking the time to explain things to her, show things to her, trying with everything he did to enrich her world. These things remained unalterable in all the time I knew this special man. He loved his family. He was a gentle, patient, magical person who brought light and joy to every encounter. There is a giant Norrie-shaped hole in the world now. He will be sorely missed, but his impact will remain, his spirit moves on in all of those who remember and were touched by his loving presence. Rest well, my friend. You loved greatly and are greatly loved, and will be greatly missed.

Through the years I’ve often fondly remembered him teaching us how to go kayaking at Caddo Lake. Fortunately, at the time I didn’t realize the lake was full of alligators. Then, getting to know him while he helped turn our school into a magical place through his creativity and painting skills was a bonus. He sure LOVED his family. He made the parts of the world he touched better.
