Obituary of Richard S. Stanford

Richard S. Stanford, 79, of Altoona, died Friday, February 19, 2021, at Maybrook Hills Rehab and Healthcare Center.

Born March 18, 1941, in Ridgeway, he was the son of the late T. Sherman and Doris Sheehan Stanford.

He is survived by two children, Todd Stanford and his wife, Karen, of Newry and Holly Massey of Mount Union; three siblings, Katherine "Kay" Strouse of State College, Margaret "Marnie" Quick of Georgetown, TX, Timothy "Tim" Stanford of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Richard was a 1960 graduate of State College High School.

He retired from an environmental maintenance position at the Lewistown Hospital after fifteen years.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Gatesburg Cemetery.
