Obituary of Lloyd A. Spearly
Lloyd A. "Snowy" Spearly, 91, of State College, died Monday, March 22, 2021, at Juniper Village At Brookline.
Born March 14, 1930, in Coleville, he was the son of the late Grove A. and Madeline (Stover) Spearly. On July 3, 1953 he married Helen L. Rusich, who preceded him in death on May 26, 2010.
He is survived by one brother, Grove "Spig" Spearly of Ft. Myers, FL; nephew, Ralph L. Spearly who was like a son and his wife Chris of State College, nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces and great-great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph Spearly and his wife Ella Mae; his sister-in-law Edna Spearly; and two nephews, Jim and Jeff Spearly.
Lloyd graduated from State College High School in 1947. He served in the United States Navy from 1948-1952 during the Korean War. He worked as a Lineman for forty years at West Penn Power before retiring in 1992.
He was of the Methodist faith. He was a Life member of BPOE #1600, F&AM Lodge 700, Tall Cedars 129, Royal Arch Masons. He was also a member of The American Legion Post 245 and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, Penn State football, tailgating and the great outdoors.
Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 pm on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.
Funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the funeral home with Jackie Naginey Hook officiating. Social distancing will be observed and masks will be mandatory for both the visitation and funeral.
Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
