My deepest sympathy to Jeanne's family and friends. Jeanne was a very, special friend back in the Our Lady Refuge days. Jeanne had an endearing smile, kind spirit and an incredible enthusiasm for life. We laughed a lot while we were together and I, like Sue, held on to her letters and several photos of Jeanne that brought back so many good memories. I am so proud of Jeanne's life accomplishments and wish I could have connected with her in recent years. I'm sure Jeanne will be missed by many people whose life she touched. My heartfelt prayers for peace go out to the Hall family.

Jeanne was a dear friend of mine during those tender years attending Our Lady Of Refuge Catholic School. She provided much love and laughter, with the giift to make you feel special. I still hold on to many small pieces of artwork and poems Jeanne sent to me through the passing of notes. Jeanne was a "cool chic, hipster" and I was convinced Mr. Magni would convince her to join the Peace Corp. Not surprised to hear of all that she accomplished. One round of studying with her and you knew she was gifted. Jeanne, you will be forever in my heart and cherished memories. I guess I'll have to wait and catch you around on the other side. My deepest sympathy to all the family. Your loss must be tremendous. God be with you Jeanne.

I cannot believe that such a bright, passionate spirit is no longer with us here at Penn State. Jeanne was my first professor at Penn State - I had her for my freshman seminar class - and then for my Master's seminar class. I am constantly reminded of her when I watch movies, think of pop culture, or laugh at Jon Stewart (of whom we both shared a love). She made anyone feel immediately both comfortable and special in just a short conversation, and we became friends instantly. To her family - I am so so sorry for your loss, we will all feel the absence of your Jeanne here at school. She shared a lot about you with us. She is one of the most passionate people I have ever met, and I'll always be inspired by what I've learned from her.

Easily the most impactful teacher I've ever had…easier still to call her my mentor…easiest to call her a dear, dear friend. I will miss so much our conversations, of academic and personal nature, her infectious laughter, her wonderful world view. Jeanne was as sweet and genuine as anyone I'll ever know, and if you knew her, you're better for it. I love you Jeanne, and to quote one of your favorites, I'll "keep you in my heart for a while." In truth, I'll keep you there forever. I'll think of you everyday...especially when I watch a terrible Walt Disney "film."

Dr. Jeanne Hall was a breath of fresh air to the film department when I was a student in the College of Communications. Her approach to teaching was engaging, invigorating and had a way of sticking with you across the curricula. The way she taught critical analysis changed our experience in other classrooms and continues to make us better citizens in our community. (I say "us" because as students we would talk amongst ourselves outside the classroom about how Jeanne's approach effected us on a personal level.) Outside the classroom, Jeanne was a joy to be around and always a welcomed addition to any social setting. My thoughts are with her family and friends throughout the journey ahead.
