Pat was the one guy who I always looked forward to "running into" every time I returned to State College. Whether it was the arts festivals, 4th of July fireworks, or just any Friday or Saturday he may have been at the Stork's Nest, it was always a pleasure to chat, catch-up on recent events, or reminisce a bit about the early days growing up in State College.
I could usually count on seeing him around town because he was an unselfish man who knew the value of community, and spending quality time with his family. He always greeted you with a smile, a firm handshake, and a "what's been going on with you?".
He was a good friend and even braved a trip to Detroit to attend my wedding over 20 years ago. My wife still appreciates how he was the one who insured that she would stop and rest/eat every now and then, recognizing that she was getting caught-up in doing so much to prepare for the event. It's that consideration for others that she'll remember most about Pat.
I'm proud to have grown-up with Pat, and am fortunate to have known him as a good friend for so many years. I'll miss him sorely for a long time.
R.I.P. old friend.
