Always laughing

I will remember my aunt Gusta because she was always laughing.
Laughing, when she briefed us on how Jan and Dirk grew up and got their first jobs.
So proudly smiling when she told us about her daughter-in-law, Melissa.
Laughing, when I introduced her to my wife.
Laughing, when she met my children and talked about her grandchildren.
I will forever be grateful to her for what she meant to my father, her brother, during his youth and later life, as undoubtly she meant for all her siblings. It is clear that in the big family Hendrickx she took up her responsibility as the oldest girl and contributed affectively where she was needed.
On the rare but valuable occasions that our paths crossed over the past years, it was funny to notice the American accent she grew more and more each time on her Dutch language.
I owe it to her to keep that memory alive and make sure that I will be ... always laughing.
