I met Dr. Pearce in the summer of 1963 between my Sophomore and Junior years at Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, OH when I accepted a summer job in his laboratory at Glidden Company. I have very fond memories of Dr. Pearce from my time with him. He was an excellent mentor giving me my own project. I even did follow-up work on the subject for the individual research course that was required by my college. Thanks in large part to my experience in his lab, I got my Ph.D,.from Case-Western Reserve University and went on to a 40 year career in industrial research. I am sorry for this late contribution but only just saw his obituary in the August, 2022 issue of Chemical and Engineering News.
