My deepest condolences to all of Lee's family. He was a sweet, gentle man and I'm so glad I had the pleasure of knowing both him and Lois...My stepdad, T.A. (Toussoun), counted Lee among one of his best friends and always looked forward to their weekly lunches. We had a wonderful time when Lee and Lois came to stay with T.A. in La Quinta after Mom (Joani) passed away and it was always a pleasure to visit Lois and Lee, then Lee by himself after Lois passed away, at their mountain home. My nieces thoroughly enjoyed fishing in the lake there! I am so sorry for your loss.

My thoughts are with friends and family.
Lee mentored myself at Penn State for a year in mushroom studies as a non degree student. My year under his mentoring help give me a sense of scientific principals that have helped throughout my mushrooming career. His papers were widely regarded and a foundation for many modern mushroom growing practices.
He mas highly respected in the mushroom industry even from those like myself on the other side of the world.
Thanks Lee and Family.

Friends and Family,
I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am for knowing Dr. Schiller. My parents, Arthur and Rita Gaspari, thought the world of him. He was a great mentor, advisor, and friend. He will be truly missed. God bless you all, and grant him eternal rest.
