Obituary of Gwendolyn A. Kreidler
Gwendolyn A. "Gwen" Kreidler, 93, of State College, PA and Nokomis, FL passed away on November 7, 2021 at home. Born on June 21, 1928 in Palmerton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth H. Ashner and Marian A. Dorshimer Ashner. On November 22, 1951 she married Robert D. Kreidler, who survives at home.
Gwen was a 1946 graduate of Lehighton High School and a 1950 graduate of East Stroudsburg University. She started her teaching career in Port Jervis, NY, took some time off when her children were young, then taught in Park Forest, Illinois and Vestal, New York, retiring in 1988.
In addition to her husband, Gwen is survived by her children, Ann K. Guss and her husband David of State College, and Allen L. Kreidler and his wife Beverly of Punta Gorda, FL. Also surviving are her granddaughter, Samantha A. Guss and her husband Gardner Treneman, great-granddaughter Robin Lucy Guss Treneman of Richmond, VA, and her niece, Pamela Wakabayashi and her husband Carlos of Northampton, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Rabuck and her brother-in-law, Floyd Rabuck.
Gwen enjoyed teaching, playing bridge and traveling. After she retired, she enjoyed spending the winters in Florida with her husband, playing bridge and meeting friends at the pool every afternoon. She was always very happy when family and friends visited their place in Florida.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Lehighton.
The family would like to thank UPMC Family Hospice, especially Ashly, Laura, Amy and Joe, and Home Instead, especially Lana, Jenny and Tammy, for the compassionate care that they provided Gwen over the past months.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Gwen's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
