Obituary of Jean Young

Jean Stover Young, 89, of State College, PA passed away quietly on January 5, 2012 in State College, PA. Born May 5,1922 in State College, PA she was a daughter of the late Bruce and Mabel Stover. While attending Penn State, she met Thomas Carrick Young a 1942 graduate. She was the "love of her husband's life for 68 years" playing many roles - mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great cook and wonderful housekeeper. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church in State College, PA., a leader of high school youth at the First Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Indiana, President of Community Nursing Service in Wheaton, IL, and a member of the Red Hat Society. Jean was a warm, out-going, smiley and touching person. She was a happy spirit. Her family will miss her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Barbara Giblin of Glen Ellyn, IL, a sister Betty Lou Stover Good and three grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Dr. Robert T. Young and a sister, Isabel Stover Fitting. A Memorial Service will be held January 28th at 4pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 132 W. Beaver Ave., State College, PA. Interment will be private.
