Obituary of Betty J. Pettit
Betty J. Pettit of Valley View Retirement Village in Belleville, PA died November 21, 2021.
Born in Lancaster, PA, February 3, 1926. Daughter of the late Harry and Elmira Zinn Kramer.
Betty was the wife of Charles W. Pettit for 66 years. Charles (Bill) passed away August 2013.
Betty graduated from McCaskey High School in Lancaster in 1944. After graduation she was employed by Armstrong's in the shipping office.
In 1974 Betty and her husband moved to State College and both were employed by Moyer Jewelers. After retirement they spent many wonderful years traveling.
Betty was a member of St Paul's United Methodist Church in State College. Besides her husband, Betty was predeceased by a son, Charles David Pettit, daughter, Susan L. Pettit and Betty's two sisters Catherine Moran and Dorothy Dussinger. Nieces and nephews survive.
Burial will be at Willow Street Mennonite Church cemetery, Willow Street, PA. At Betty's request there will be only a grave side service held inside the church on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
Memorials may be given to St Paul's United Methodist Church in care of the Good Samaritan Fund, 250 East College Avenue, State College Pa. 16801.
