Obituary of Philip Tim Witherite

Philip Tim Witherite, 63, of Houtzdale, died Saturday, December 4, 2021, at home.

Born April 5, 1958, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late William Harold and Mable Almedia Kelley Witherite. On December 3, 1976 he married Jo Ghaner, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Elizabeth J. Hummel and her husband Paul of West Decatur, Timothy L. Witherite and his partner Karri English of Clearfield, Paul W. Witherite and his partner Clarissa Wingate of Houtzdale, Mark A. Witherite and his wife Cassandra of West Decatur, and Sara L. Hutchinson and her husband Josh of Ramey; nine siblings, Ronald Witherite and his wife Elaine of Milroy, Ella Mae Wasson and her husband Ed of Centre Hall, Rose Dillon of Centre Hall, Harry Witherite of Julian, John Witherite of Port Matilda, Russel Witherite and his wife Judy of Spring Mills, Connie Young and her husband Ronald of Port Matilda, Blaine Witherite and his wife Sue of Roaring River, NC, and Phyllis Witherite of Philipsburg; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Tim graduated from State College High School in 1976. He was a truck driver.

Tim enjoyed fishing, camping and sewing.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral service will be 11 am, Friday, December 10, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Ben Hoover officiating.

Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
