Obituary of Evelyn Louise Ritter

Evelyn Louise "Eve" Ritter, 86, of State College, died Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Embassy At Hearthside.

Born December 15, 1935, in State College, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Virginia Hummel Swanger. On April 15, 1955 she married Barton Lee "Bud" Ritter, who preceded her in death on October 3, 2018.

She is survived by one son, Robert L. Ritter and his wife Kim of Bellefonte; three brothers, Donald Swanger and his wife Barb of Julian, Gerald Swanger and his wife Kathy of Bedford, and Elmer Swanger and his wife Lois of Philipsburg; three grandchildren, Travis Schindler and his wife Caitlyn, Lindsey Schindler, and Ryan Ritter; and one great-grandson, Vincent. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Robert.

Eve graduated from State College High School.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, canning, and bird watching—especially for hummingbirds and bluebirds.

Visitation will be 12 until 1 pm, Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 1 pm, with Celebrant Jackie Naginey Hook officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
