Obituary of Donald A. Dreibelbis
Donald A. Dreibelbis, 91, of State College, died Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center.
Born August 4, 1930, in State College, he was the son of the late Bruce Ewing and Ruth Herman Dreibelbis
He is survived by three siblings: Galen Dreibelbis and his wife, Nancy of State College, June Rudy of Mansfield, Pa, and Dean Dreibelbis and his wife Linda, of Pennsylvania Furnace: two children, Joan E Mallet of Millsboro, Delaware and Mark A. Dreibelbis and his wife, Chandra, of Gaithersburg, Maryland; three step-children: Thomas R. Weller, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, Lillie B. Richards and her husband, Steven, Joy W. Argo, all of Julian; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
Don was a graduate of State College Area High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War. After being discharged married Nancy Doerner (Jordan) in 1953.
On November 10, 1973 Don married Wanita Hanscam who proceeded him in death on February 21. 2019.
He was a farmer on the same farm that he was born and raised, milking 100 head of cows and raising 15,000 chickens.
Don later became an auctioneer and auctioned from the same farm known as Park Crest Farms in State College.
Don was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ. He served on the Pine Hall Cemetery Board, was a member of the Mason's and the Elk Lodge 1600 of State College. After retirement he enjoyed golfing and spending time with family.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m., on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 1795 West College Avenue, State College, with the Reverend Robert L. Ford officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
