Obituary of Daniel Reese Williams

Daniel Reese "Dan" Williams, 75, of State College, died Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at home.

Born April 5, 1946, in Bellefonte, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond G. and Maud Reese Williams. On July 15, 1971 he married Christine E. Turner, who preceded him in death on February 5, 2012.

He is survived by one daughter, Katherine A. (Brian) Stauffer of State College; one son, Patrick J. (Wendy) Poss of McLeansville, NC; one sister, Diane (Garth) Homan of State College; four grandchildren, Stefanie (Justin) Fink, Steven (Lian) Hazel, Samantha Hazel and Sean Poss; and eight great-grandchildren, Daniel Irvin, Dakota Irvin, Chelsea Chapin, Paetynn Hazel, Jeremy Waite, Lincoln Hazel, Tyler Chapin, and Orion Hazel. He was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Dan graduated from State College High School in 1964. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He worked as a dispatcher for the Coca Cola Company, Fullington Bus Company, and Penn State University Office of Physical Plant.

He was a life member of Alpha Fire and Ambulance Company. He enjoyed volunteering with the Alphas, golfing, traveling, and spending time at the casino, bear hugging his grandchildren and loved his cats.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday, January 21, 2022 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College.

Funeral service will be private.

Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
