Ellen and Chris and family, it is with great sadness I read of Arlene's passing. You have my deepest sympathy. She was just a great lady--always fun, quick to laugh, had wonderful stories. She loved you all to the ends of the earth. And of course she loved her Jimmy. They were 2 puzzle pieces, as you said. I am sorry we have lost her, but I am happy she is at peace and now with her Jimmy. Kathleen Cocolin

Ellen and Christina and families,
Arlene “completed” Jim. I was richly blessed to take a Sport History class with Dr. Thompson in the 70’s. My blessing continued
When Jim was on my Thesis committee and became a mentor and friend during my career at Penn State. When I socialized with Arlene and Jim, Arlene was truly welcoming and was the consummate “Greek Host”. I learned Greek phrases and learned about Greek dishes but mostly I was privileged to Watch a wonderful marriage and Family. THANK you for sharing a lifetime mentor and a couple who brought joy to every person who walked through the Thompson front door. At this time of great loss I hope you gain solace in the past memories and in the thoughts of their heavenly reunion. Our Penn State Family will never be quite the same.
Sincere Condolences,
Mike Morse
