Obituary of Larry Alvin Stoner
Larry Alvin Stoner, 72, of State College, died Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born February 9, 1950, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Clarence and Betty Witmer Stoner. On October 25, 1980 he married Dawn R. Mercer, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Jamie L. Stoner and his wife Julie of Hamden, CT, Jason L. Stoner of Bellefonte, Heather M. McIntosh and her husband Cal of Boalsburg, Brian D. Stoner of State College, and Matthew A. Stoner of State College; two brothers, David L. Stoner of Boalsburg, and Jeffrey W. Stoner of Bellefonte; and 20 grandchildren.
Larry served in the United States Marine Corps. He graduated from State College Area High School in 1968. He worked as a mechanic for Corning Glass for 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking.
Visitation will be 2-4 pm, Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.
Funeral service will be 11 am, Monday, February 21, 2022 at Koch Funeral Home, with Cal McIntosh officiating.
Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park at a future date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Park Forest Preschool.
