Obituary of Alicia Abellana Haines

Alicia "Alice" Abellana Haines, 83, of Boalsburg, died Monday, February 21, 2022, at home.

Born December 4, 1938, in Cebu, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Antonio K. and Perpetua Reyes Abellana. On June 6, 1963, she married James J. Haines, who survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Theresa Haines of Boalsburg, Lisa M. Matthews and her husband Bernard of Portland, OR, Christine R. Haines of Los Angeles, CA, and Brenda J. Aukerman and her husband David of Bellefonte; one sister, Fe Abellana of Cebu, Philippines, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Bernard D. Haines on December 4, 2013; and by eight brothers and sisters.

She earned her bachelor's degree from The Cebu Institute of Technology in 1958. She worked as a librarian for Penn State University.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her loved ones.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
