Obituary of Karen Marie Mothersbaugh
Karen Marie Mothersbaugh, 55, of Bellefonte, PA passed away on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022 after a valiant fight with cancer.
Karen was born on May 27, 1966 to John and Dorothy Costello in Long Beach, CA. After Karen graduated from Greenway High School in Phoenix, AZ in 1984, she went on to study Finance at Arizona State University.
After graduating with a degree in Finance, she started her first job at Bank One which ultimately led her to a very successful career as a recruiter for American Express, Randstad Sourceright and finally Penn State University.
In 2011, Karen met the love of her life, Don Mothersbaugh of Bellefonte, PA. Karen and Don were married in Glendale, AZ on February 18th, 2012. Karen then moved to Pennsylvania with Don to start their lives together. That should tell you how much she loved her Donald.
In March of 2021, Karen left Penn State to focus on her true passion, serving others. She was planning to volunteer at Centre County Paws in State College to help the animals she loved so dearly. However, life had other plans before she could even get started.
Karen was predeceased by her parents, John and Dorothy Costello. She is survived by her husband, Don Mothersbaugh, her two stepchildren, Karah Hodges and Zack Mothersbaugh, her step son-in-law Jon Hodges, her brother Johnny Costello and sister Judy Dale and her fur baby cat Domino.
Karen was an amazing, very caring person who touched the hearts of so many. She was strong in faith and believed everything has a purpose.
She attended State College Alliance Church.
