Obituary of William Raymond Stacey
William Raymond "Bill" Stacey, 91, of State College, died Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born July 9, 1930, in Fond du Lac, WI, he was the son of the late Theodore and Violet Arlene Pickle Stacey. On June 17, 1961, he married Linda Lee Schoonmaker, who survives.
Also surviving are five children, Janelle Jung and her husband, Che-Mo (of State College), Michelle Calder and her husband, Stephen (of Farmington, UT), Daniel Stacey and his wife, Dawn (of Port Washington, WI), Michael Stacey (of El Cerrito, CA), Chantelle Weaver and her husband, Thomas (of Pleasant Gap), and nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Stacey on September 17, 2017, and a sister, Violet Rae Cornwell on April 19, 2018.
Bill was a 1949 graduate of Fond du Lac High School. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin in Business Administration in 1958. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Bill was employed as a Finance Administrator at Penn State University for forty years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Bill was a loving father and a doting grandfather. He loved having his large family around him and would often show his affection by serving a plethora of ice-cream.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 10 am and will be followed by the funeral service at 11:15 am located at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (842 West Whitehall Road, State College) with Bishop Jed Neilson officiating.
Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
