So sad to hear of the passing of Howard on our Central High School Class Alumni Facebook page. During the six-week-long Septa strike, Howard drove me to school (not many teenagers in South Philly had a car). He always had such a nice and pleasant way about him. He was a good and kind man who loved his family and will be missed by all.

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Howard at Wachovia and Wells Fargo for several years. Howard was a passionate, driven, caring, hard working leader on our South Jersey team and he always affectionately called me "Boss", throughout our entire relationship. I absolutely loved Howard, loved working with him and loved being his friend. We had a great relationship and kept in touch through the years. One of my fondest memories was the annual sales trip we attended and all the fun times we shared there. I had the pleasure of attending his lovely wedding to Bonnie and it was a fun, joyous event. I am very saddened by his departure and my heart goes out to Bonnie, his daughters and his entire family. Howard was a very special person that really cared about people and had a very big heart. I will truly miss him. Deepest sympathies and condolences and may your memories comfort you.

50+ years ago Howard and I became friends as members of Theta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Rho fraternity. Some of my fondest teenage memories were spent with Howard and our "Band of Brothers" bowling, shooting pool, playing cards, under age drinking and meeting girls. Over these many years we've weaved in and out of touch with Facebook being a beautiful place where we re-connected and shared senior memories of friendship and his beautiful family. Rest in Peace my Theta brother. God took one of the good ones!!

Eckstut Family please accept my deepest condolences. I have so many great memories of Howard over the years working at first union together as bankers. Being on a work trip to Orlando together and working at Wachovia/Wells Fargo as district managers. Howard would always say don’t worry about the things you can’t control. This Man touched so many lives Rest In Peace Howard. I know you will still be smiling in heaven.
